There is no
diet in the world that has elicited much controversy as it has done the Atkins
diet. Well, talking of the Atkins diet does not mean that there is no good. The
diet allows for huge consumption of fats and cholesterol. What though are the
benefits of Atkins diet?
Pros
Strict
adherence to the diet will result in definite weight lose. Compared with other
weight losing diets known and recommended worldwide, the Atkins diet works
perfectly as well. There have been reports of fast and effective weight loss. This
diet controls the body’s insulin. It also develops ketosis, a chemical state
that enables the body to burn fat.
Cons
There are
chances of your body developing kidney failure because of the proteins in the
diet. There are also reported signs of flu symptoms especially in the earliest
stages of one’s consumption of the diet. Constipation and heart diseases are
inevitable since the diet has no fiber! Because of there is a quick loss of
weight in the early stage, the body losses a lot of water. This is dangerous.
